Establishes and implements policy for assignment, use and termination of government owned and controlled quarters. Directs acquisition, retention and disposal of family housing assets. Performs all pre- and post-acquisition inspections with owners and ensures standards and lease requirements are met. Administers and approves Temporary Lodging Allowances (TLA), Moving in Housing Allowance (MIHA) and other housing allowances and issues certificates of non-availability of all government housing.

Housing Divisions includes the following branches:

• Customer Service
  • Manages and administers assignments, utilitization and termination of government controlled family housing quarters. Assures that maximum utilization of government controlled family housing is maintained. Recommends repair and preventive maintenance on quarters based on information provided by quarter's inspectors. Responsible for all studies and projects within division.

• Facilities

• Plans, manages, and executes the leased and Government rental and Off-Post private rental Housing Programs. Determines requirements and needs for leased housing. Arbitrates disputes between renters and landlords to assure that a mutually accepted settlement is obtained. Validates resource requirements for the program and determines significant short and long-term costs (five-year plan).

• Furnishings Management
  • Controls and is accountable for approximately 300 line items valued at approximately 6 million dollars. Analyzes, validates, approves requests, and disburses supplies and equipment in support of community housing requirements. Operation covers Vicenza and Verona areas including remote Army sites in Northern Italy.

Real Estate

• Real Estate Develops and implements plans, policies, standards and procedures for acquisition and disposal of real estate. Prepares and negotiates residual value claims for US funded capital investments on installations returned to the Host Nation Government. Negotiates agreements concerning administrative arrangements with host government for consignment, payment of compensation for, and extent of US rights under NATO Status of Forces Agreements (SOFA).
